T Leyton 1912 -

Leyton was built by the LGOC in 1912. The garage was damaged by bombing in the second world war, reconstruction not being completed until the late 1950's. The two routes that Leyton would be remembered for would be the 35 and 38, major trunk routes from Chingford and Walthamstow into the West End and City. The garage is also responsible for many trolleybus replacement routes especially when Walthamstow (WW) was closed. There was a period in the mid eighties when all the OPO routes from Leyton were operated by Leyland Nationals including Night route N96.

This page is a tribute to Alfred Dunn who was a driver at Leyton Garage until he retired at the age of 70 in 1971. Sadly he died in 1991 but I am sure his son Richard would love to hear from any of his ex colleagues via his website.
