Formerly a tram depot but opened as a bus garage on 7 January 1951 with the withdrawal of the trams but closed after the 1958 bus strike with services being transferred to Merton and Stockwell.

The garage was re-opened in 1981 and acted as caretaker for (N) Norwood which closed for three years while rebuilding was carried out and then the same for (AK) Streatham between 1984 and 1987. The garage is now a Sainsburys supermarket.
