NS North Street, Romford
1953

North Street garage was opened on the 12th August 1953 and was necessary because of overcrowding at Hornchurch (RD). None of the routes operated into Central London except in recent years when the N98 night service was introduced (now N25). A one way system was introduced to prevent congestion in North Street whereby buses entered by way of Seymour Road and left via Park Drive. Between 1975 and 1976 NS operated the ex British Airways routemasters which were classified RMA and put to work on service 175.
